I have crafted all my life and loved making things out of bits and pieces.
My crafting career started thirty three years ago when a close friend bought her daughter a hobby horse, I said "I could have made you one of those," and I did, I went on to make one for each of my sons, They used them as battering rams.
From there I went on to make rag dolls, clowns, bags and lots of other things.
I started selling them to shops , craft fairs and on markets.I went into partnership with 3 other crafters and opened a shop. Within a year I was pregnant with my third son who is now 27. and I decided to stay at home and be a full time Mum.
In 1992 when John was 10 I decided to open a shop selling the supplies to make dolls of my own design, I have moved around from shops to craft centres and selling at the Hobbycraft shows.
I was approached by the editor of Craft Beautiful magazine in 2001, they featured my button dolls in the July issue that year and my Angel delight dolls in the November issue.
The cones that we sell for these dolls are still selling well 8 years later. and the ready made dolls are still selling well at craft markets around the country.
I had to close my last shop due to ill health , while recovering from an operation I had plenty of time to spend at the computer and am now ready to open my online store
I never thought that at the age of 62 that I would be expanding my business again.
So this is a new beginning, wish me luck
